Use Claude Code, Codex and Gemini from your phone

By Otter Digital Pte. Ltd. · Updated October 2, 2026

You can use Claude Code, Codex and Gemini from your phone with Otter Beam. The agents keep running on your own computer; the Otter Beam app on your phone, tablet or foldable opens the same chats, so you can read replies, answer questions and send the next instruction from anywhere.

Who this is for

Anyone who runs AI coding agents on a computer and wants to keep them moving while away from the desk: check a long task from the sofa, answer an agent’s question on the train, or review the result on a tablet or foldable.

How it works

  1. Install Otter Beam on your computer. A Mac (macOS 11 or later), a Windows PC or a Linux machine. This is where your agents run; sign in to Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity there as usual.
  2. Install Otter Beam on your phone or tablet. Get it from the App Store or Google Play, or use the web app.
  3. Sign in and approve the device. Use the same Otter Beam account, and approve the new phone or tablet from a device you have already signed in on.
  4. Open the project. Choose the computer and the folder you want to work in.
  5. Open a chat or start a new one. Continue an existing agent chat to keep its context, or start a new chat for a separate task. Read it as a chat or switch to the real terminal.

The full walkthrough, including what to do if a chat does not appear, is in Use Claude Code or Codex from your phone.

What you can do from the phone

Phone, tablet or foldable

The same projects and chats open on an iPhone, an iPad, an Android phone, tablet or foldable, and in the browser. Layouts adapt to the available space: a phone gives the conversation the whole screen, while a tablet or an unfolded foldable can show the chat list beside the chat. An extra virtual display can be sized to your phone, foldable or tablet.

Connection and security

On a local network or a VPN such as Tailscale, your devices connect directly. Away from it, Otter Relay forwards the already-encrypted connection, with no public IP, port forwarding or tunnel to set up. Device keys stay on your devices and are never uploaded. Relay session length depends on your plan.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Claude Code from my phone?

Yes. Install Otter Beam on the computer where Claude Code runs, then open the same chat from the Otter Beam app on iPhone or Android, or from the web app. You can read it as a chat or as the real terminal and send your next instruction from the phone.

Can I use Codex from my phone?

Yes. Codex chats on your computer appear in Otter Beam the same way as Claude Code chats. Open the project on your phone, continue an existing Codex chat or start a new one, and follow along as a chat or in the terminal.

Can I use Gemini from my phone?

Yes, through Antigravity (agy). Otter Beam supports the Antigravity harness on your computer, so its chats open from your phone like any other agent chat; the controls available depend on the harness.

Does the agent keep running if my phone disconnects?

Yes. Agents run in tmux on your computer, so losing signal, closing the app or switching devices does not stop the work. It does not keep running through a shutdown, reboot or loss of power on the computer.

Does it work on tablets and foldables?

Yes. Otter Beam is available for iPhone and iPad and for Android phones, tablets and foldables, and its layouts adapt to the screen. On a larger screen the chat list can sit beside the conversation.

Is my code sent to Otter servers?

No. The agent and your files stay on your computer. On your own network the phone connects directly; away from it, Otter Relay forwards the already-encrypted connection and cannot read your commands, output or files.
